The short answer
A context window limits how much information a model can process at once, but larger windows do not automatically make answers better.
The context window is the working space a model receives for a request. It can include instructions, conversation history, retrieved documents, and tool results.
More context can help when the right evidence is present. It can hurt when irrelevant material makes the important signal harder to find.
Good AI products select, summarize, and structure information rather than sending everything by default.
