A chat transcript is a useful artifact, but it is not a complete explanation. When an agent fails, teams need to see the tool call, retrieved context, policy decision, and handoff that shaped the result.
Trace the workflow
Observability should follow the work from request to outcome. That makes failures diagnosable and successful patterns reusable.
Measure outcomes
The important question is not whether a model produced fluent text. It is whether the workflow reached the correct state with an acceptable level of human effort.
